To Me It's Not Growing.....
Of course when you are going natural and your "curly afro or curls" don't seem like it's growing, when indeed it is!! You can't notice your own physical changes unless they are dramatic! If you lose some hair, shaveyour head, or add weave, then of course it is noticeable to you. But if you have transitioned for many months and did the BC, you may not notice your growth! So my solution is pick a date (preferably your BC day) and every month on that day take a picture of your hair whether dry or wet (but keep it that way when you take your picture every month) and that way you can see your progression. See problem solve..I promise as you do this you will see your growth more than just playing in it everyday waiting for it to touch your shoulders/back/or waist!

You're Good, I Can't Do Natural.......
There are always those that say, "you're good, I can't do natural". But fact of the matter is that anyone and everyone can do natural. Natural hair is what you were born with, and I am sure given the time and right products can and would change many opinions. Natural hair is fun because everyone has a curl pattern, some more than others but it is there. Like myself, I have about 3 different patterns and have to style accordingly. Majority of the time when someone says that to you, really means that they want to go natural but scared of the transition, or maybe someone a long time ago told them they had to be mixed in order to where natural hair, or maybe because it's more of an Afro, or more of a kinky look, or more of what they think is bad. The truth of the matter is that African American hair is beautiful no matter what texture it is!! So if you have been debating on whether to go natural, do your research, and don't be afraid to do it because you are beautiful no matter what your NATURAL LOOK may be!

Curl Pattern Curiosity/Frustration
Many natural haired women make YouTube on their curl type or pattern. My only problem is that I have more than one, more than two, and I think more than three curl patterns. So I have been trying different products and styles to see what works best in my "CURL MIXTURE". I watch so many YouTube and seems like I am the only one with multiple curl patterns. It makes me so upset that my nape area is curly and silky, my middle is wavy and a little ruff, and my front is curly and springy on one side and wavy and straight on the other side. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN you may ask? Well I don't have an answer, maybe it was from the "CHI IRON" that was used for 2 yrs when I used to wash, condition, blow dry, and flat iron...or maybe I was born this way...either way I am trying my hardest to be happy and content with what I have to work with. So I have two options....let it grow to see if it was heat damage or cut one whole side off and let it grow back....""""""remember I transitioned....never shaved my whole head....so I just cut every permed end off""""""" Well I guess I will let it grow out until the end of this year and then decide what is best.....If you have any advice or have a similar situation please please please comment!!

That Morning "Mushroom"
I can honestly say "I never know how I will look when I wake up". LOL Once the satin cap comes off I look at my hair and wonder what in the world will I do with it today. Many of times I have to come up with a quick style so I can make it to work on time...then there are other times when I prestyle my hair the night before (twist) and kind of have some kind of idea how my style will be for that day. Thank God for Banana Clips because when I have a MUSHROOM type of morning...I clip and go!!

My Opinion About Natural Hair
First of all don't let anyone say how easy it is to maintain natural hair because it is a lot of work and maintenance!! I didn't realize how much work I was going to have to put into my hair process, but I am always up for the challenge!! I love the fact that I can just add water and go about my business, or get in the shower and not have to worry about frizzy hair or (freshly flat ironed hair getting wet)! I absolutely love my curls ( all 3 types) lol So before going natural and/or cutting your hair, do your research and learn your products because that is what I had to do and still doing!!

My Overall Experience with Going NATURAL
After my last perm (which didn't take), I decided to continue to wash, condition and flat iron (chi) my hair instead of putting a perm in my hair. My hair always had body, shine, and was very healthy. It grew like weeds after I quit using perms. After about 1yr and 10months of transitioning from August 2010 to June 2012, my husband kept pushing me to just go natural and just cut it all off and start over. But I didn't want to shave it all off, so I just cut all the straight ends (permed ends) off and went from there. JULY 8, 2012 was the "BC" OMG I absolutely loved my curls and the new vibrate look!!! So I've been natural ever since!!
